Down but not out

Braving the elements i wandered down to my local canal again today and noticed these last bramble's clinging vainly onto life (alongside some less fortunate companions!). As much as they will never fulfill their life's purpose i do find them strangely pretty, and you never know, some poor hungry bird may be in need if this weather continues much longer!
