Fire in the Mist

This morning at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, San Antonio, NM the temperature was 10 degrees F. We were at the railroad pool waiting for the sunrise over the mountain to shine down on the sandhill cranes and snow geese. Part of the pond had ice on it but in the back, around the birds mist was rising from the water. This is how it looked when the rising sun just illuminated the area
