Sunset at Froggatt Edge

I took a friend out in to the Derbyshire Peak to give our cameras an airing. The snow was a bonus though the condition of some of the minor roads a bit of a worry.

We started in Padley Gorge where the snow was quite deep and the light fantastic. I took some pics of the waterfalls, slowing the speed to turn the water solid. It was so cold and I was in shadow that I nearly turned myself solid too. My fingers had gone completely by the time I had emerged in to the sun.

For the late afternoon, we thought we would go to the top of Froggatt Edge to catch the sunset. When we were driving along, the late afternoon light on the Edge and woods below we thought would be more productive, and we stopped in a gateway and walked back to where the light was falling on the valley below.
As the sun began to sink, the shadow climbed up the hill until only the Edge itself and one or two late walkers were to be seen in the light.
