Green

A crisp, cold, sunny day - my favourite kind of winter weather. I met up with a friend in the afternoon to catch up while walking around the wetland centre. We had a real giggle at the poor birds skating and slipping over the icy ponds. Some had a good notion of what to do to keep both legs on the ice, but the younger birds were very comical. We spotted a duck asleep in a shady part of non-iced water, but the poor thing was shivering so much that ripples radiated from its curled-up form. I wanted to gently push it over to the sunny side of the pond. Tea and cake warmed us up before heading home. It's always so good to catch up, and I still have the image of the frog in the watering can spout (long story) in my head. It kept me smiling all the way home.

Fred has gone up to Inverness for the weekend, leaving me with a mountain of Green and Blacks chocolate to devour. YUM!

Happy weekend!

These are falcated ducks, originally from eastern Asia - I think they have the kindest eyes.
