Burn Baby Burn

A busy day with lots of work to catch up on in my own house. Great satisfaction to know that we now have money in the bank, bus fares, bread, birthday cards and presents for the weekend parties, ordered a certain person's special day presents on-line, sourced new cooker - all shiny and new, clean clothes - albeit still damp, and a home cooked tea instead of pasta or baked potato.

Just before going outside to burn the remainder of the paperwork that we all accumulate and which the crappy shredders can never cope with, I danced round the kitchen with my girl, as we do. What a sense of relief. I grew two inches and my ears no longer have the warmth of my shoulders. I can see my neck - which will need washing. Burn Baby Burn, Disco Inferno!

Although, if I were a scout I would have failed my making fire badge. I needed several blocks of firelighter and a big stick to poke it with. My girl couldn't resist joining me and we played with fire together. Its so attractive, I surely could have been a pyromaniac. We both smell beautiful but neither is prepared to give it up and surrender to water.

Also dug out the remainder of the potatoes from the garden. Freshly dug tatties in late November - a real treat. Best get them before the frost and snow make it impossible to dig. In the pan and on the table for tea. We all feel like cosying up to the fire tonight and leaving the cold outside.
