Tree?
Traditionally, Frome's Christmas tree has always been in the town centre, next to the Market Cross. But for the past few years, instead of a real tree, we've been lumbered with something that looks like the frame of a giant umbrella that's blown inside out and lit up. It's been so unpopular that there's a Facebook group (complete with a photo of the brolly) campaigning to have a real tree instead.
Did the council listen? Well, sort of. The brolly's gone and we're getting a real tree this year, but it's been put at the top of the hill leading into the town centre. Next to the Market Cross, we have this monstrosity! I have to say that this blip doesn't do it justice - in real life, it looks far worse. I have no idea what it's supposed to be.
