The first proper snow of winter

We've experienced snow on Vancouver Island, but today was the first proper snow to hit Vancouver.

Canada is well known for its harsh winters, but Vancouver usually escapes pretty lightly being on the west coast.

As I write this however the temperature has already risen and the snow has turned into rain. Probably for the best.

Interesting that our first lying snow should hit the same day as it hit back home in Aberdeen as well. We're definitely 7000 miles away right?
