A room with a view

As the city began to spread south of Bruntsfield Links (see yesterday) some very well-off people began to build some posh houses sort of like mini-mansions.

One (just the other side of the road from the Links) was built with this lovely tower room caught here in the early morning sun. The interesting thing is that other house builders had the same idea so there are one or two similar dotted around.

I have never been in one of those rooms - although #2 daughter saw the Millennium dawn at a party in one. But they look a wonderful place to sit with a book and enjoy the view.
