Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Mt. Baldy

Late this afternoon we headed toward the market to get our "buy one turkey, get one for free." We had not yet purchased one because tomorrow's holiday meal will happen at our daughter's home.

Before it is almost impossible to find a turkey at the grocery store, we decided to get to the store and purchase a turkey, and two is always better than one.

Possibly you can detect from the top photo that we were "hunting." Mr. Fun wasn't going to stop to let me take a photo of the spectacular view of Mt. Baldy, just to the north of us.

Actually, I have to confess that he did stop at a less than ideal location. I stepped from the passenger side of the car and my foot sunk into six inches of soft dirt. What a thrill! I pulled my foot and shoe out of the sink-hole and clicked a photo. Then as we "sped" toward the market, I tried to capture a view of the mountain, however, the fence looks like it is speeding past us.

Before we arrived at the market, we had stopped at the nearest Hallmark store to purchase another recordable book. We now have two of them in our possession. We've decided that we'll take one to the family gathering tomorrow and have each member of the family record one page. Then we'll send it to Tristan, our great-grandson, who lives in Oklahoma City.

The other recordable book, Mr. Fun will take to his mother's home next week to have her read and record the pages for little Tristan and his mommy, Desiree, our granddaughter.

I hate "hunting" and if my car "Snow White" was not in the garage to get fixed, I would have left the "hunter" at home an gone on my own to get the books and the turkeys.

Oh boy tomorrow is the Thanksgiving holiday. I've just received a fabulous photo/text from our daughter of one of the pies she has just baked. I would have used that as my blip this evening, but her camera data is claiming that it is already tomorrow. Ugh! Oh well. If I don't capture anything worthy tomorrow, I know I have a pie photo that will do the job.

Good night from Southern California.
