Picture of a picture

This brings back memories. It was painted by Gus over 30 years ago in a freezing cold studio on the quayside in Newcastle (an area that is now replete with fancy wine bars and restaurants). You will notice I am wearing a scarf to keep the cold at bay. I still love this picture and have it hanging in my dining room because it does evoke such great memories of my youth and of friends who have grown distant. I also like it for itself because it's a sketch, it's painterly and shows the real me as I was then.

And just in case you should ask, Gus, I am NOT giving it back EVER
