Guardian?

This chap is seating above the entrance to the Vestlandske Kunstindustrimuseum: the West Norway Museum of Decorative Arts. The building was designed by Henry Bucher and was completed in 1896. Sadly, I haven't been able to find out who he is but he does look like he is guarding the entrance.

The grass in front of the museum & the surrounding area have various art installations dotted about. Inside. it houses (amongst other things) one of the largest collections of Chinese art, outside of China.
