Goose barnacles!

Well thank you all so much for your kind comments on my blip yesterday! I really wasn't expecting it to hit the spotlight, but I was very proud of it because I didn't have my gorillapod with me, and it was also quite breezy, so I was very pleased to be able to get such a clear shot!

Today, the beach was very kind to me and offered so much macro material!

I opted for this shot, because I'm not actually sure what these are! I'm guessing they're some kind of mollusc? They were still alive and the black wormy bits were wriggling around, and they were attached in bunches to a plastic bottle which looked like it had only just reached the shore not long before I took the photograph. I'm intrigued by the bright orange colouring on them!

Edited: Thank you very much mollyblobs for informing me that these are actually goose barnacles! Looking forward to doing lots of reading about them now I know what they are - thank you!
