My name is Ann, I got a plan....

Blipworld meet another of my quiz team, Ann.

Tonight we had another away game at the Stopes Tavern, they were short of a question master so Ann volunteered. I think it was so that she could give her partner Terry a hard time if he got anything wrong. She got her opportunity late in the quiz witha question about constellations and the zodiac when he failed to recognise her star sign!

Tonight was another up and down night.

Round 1 6-6
Round 2 and I was forced into Warner Cartoons as my specialist subject. Crashed and burned! No idea which character lisps "You're despicable" The daughter got it right, in a flash when I got home.. Still the rest of the team did ok and we won the round 4-7
Total 10-13.
Round 3 we won 5-6
Total 15-19
Round four wiped out. The theme was nationalities, no problem getting the aphrodisiac Spanish Fly, or the French Lieutenant's Woman, or the Swiss Army knife, but would you know which colour of paint was invented in 1834 by Windsor & Newton based on a dense form of zinc oxide? Three of us thought we did and went for Prussian Blue.....Wrong!!! Fortunatley Stopes only picked up a couple of points.

Fag break and beer and a team chat. "We got away with that, we need to sharpen up, come on, second half, let's not lose our unbeaten record!"

It worked too, I made up for the Prussian Blue fiasco and we won round 5..... 2-9

Round 6 We won 6-7
Total 27-35
Round 7 after the first Individual round I had to do better on comical identities...and I did, so did Phil, Jayne and Terry and we shared the round 8-8.
Total 35-43
Last round and a question I didn't dare get wrong, on my alma mater, The Victoria University of Manchester, another round shared 8-8.

Final total 43-51.

So there you have it..................10/10, still undefeated, still top of the league by 5 points.Next week a week off and then the cruncher, last year's Champions, second place in the league and bitter rivals, away at Radcliffe Cricket Club. And too add to the pressure my fishing mates will be there for their monthly meeting so I can expect a tough game and abuse and barracking from the side lines.........but if we win, it'll be half way through the season without losing...and if we lose....well we'll still have at hree point lead at the top.
