The White House, Bishkek

And just to prove that there is still a strong soviet-era legacy in Bishkek (at least in architectural terms) there is the White House.

This huge building houses the Kyrgyz President, Government and Parliament.

Bishkek felt like a lovely relaxed town to spend time in - although the ethnic clashes in mid-2010 were a reminder that stability in this part of the world can be pretty temporary.
