today's delivery

So, three of our four hens are laying every day. These are today's eggs. The hen that isn't laying (Betty) is broody, and spends nearly all the time sitting on the eggs that the other hens (Schafi, Amelie and Ginger) have laid. We've been advised to get a couple of fertilised eggs for her to hatch out, so today I went to two local hen-owners and asked, but none of their hens are laying at the moment.
So we'll have to throw the net a bit wider to try and find some potentially fertilised eggs for Betty.

We were offered a cockerel at the second farm we went to, but politely declined - not sure the neighbours would like a daybreak alarm clock again.
