Temporary Wheels

We had a case presentation today - we worked in groups earlier in the week to plan a management of a number of fracture cases. I had the acetates of our diagrams to present today.

Today I find my car has a flat. So I text a colleague (thankfully traded numbers yesterday!) to let them know I'd be late. I jack up the car and take of the nuts and then find that I cannot get the tyre free from the axel...

In an amazingly girlie way I had to call out my break down service (which I found out that by just renewing my policy I had not renewed my breakdown cover)... Nice chap tapped it with a runbber mallet and the wheel popped off. Apparently alloys can basically weld themselves on. So a rubber mallet is on my XMas list now.

Somehow managed to make it into the vet school in just enough time for our group to start presentations!
