...shear stress...

Originally, I was going to post this however while I was unpacking I noticed that my cologne bottle was broken...

Wikipedia defines shear stress as: "Shear stress is a stress state where the stress is parallel or tangential to a face of the material, as opposed to normal stress when the stress is perpendicular to the face. Shear stress is a measure of the tendency of a material to slide on itself, that is like a deck of cards. The variable used to denote shear stress is ? (tau)." Which is relatively accurate...the glass which attached the neck and sprayer to the rest of the bottle sheared off of the body of the bottle...what a waste... =/ the vapor pressure is probably going to cause the rest of whatever didn't leak into my travel bag to evaporate...guess I know what I'm going to get more of today...

Last night was the corporate holiday party, where our CEO kindly announced that things were changing in the company soon in leaps and bounds, again. I can't imagine things have improved since the merger in January...but I do know a number of layoffs start on Monday. It makes me happy to have job security. Apparently this was the worst holiday party too in years...of course, being my first, I have little to base it off of...

I'd say at least the drinks were free, but even then they capped us at 2, and didn't have a cash bar at the event...practically half the company migrated at some part of the night to the bar in another part of the hotel
