Lunch is Served

The Scottish Opera's performance of The Marriage of Figaro last night was excellent . The lighting, the sets the costumes, the acting, and the singing were all absolutely splendid.
We mixed with the great and the good in the interval while sipping our G&T's.
The people watching was an added bonus to the night out.

This is a very early blip today as we are expecting his Lordship's older brother and wife for lunch. They live in Perth and this will be the first time they have seen the Dower House.
We had hoped for a sunny day which would show off the surroundings in the best light, but needless to say it's grey and drizzling rain with the trees looking damp, sad and leafless. Ho hum.

It will also be the first time I have entertained anyone to a meal in the Dower House, and it has been more than a little fraught trying to find the familiar serving dishes and plates which have been put in unfamiliar cupboards.
But all is now in order, though with an open plan kitchen/dining room it has been quite an exercise finding positions at the table for the guests so that they don't see any untoward activity if I happen to drop something vital on the floor. It has been known.

I am no cook as my family will willingly testify, but this all in one dish with salmon, green beans, tomatoes and anchovies is regarded as being fail proof...... but you never know.
Wish me luck!
