Go West

Completely forgot to have any lunch today.

Just before noon, an email from my manager popped up "I'm in Edinburgh today, I need to see you. Urgent!". Obviously I thought the worse.

Was it something I'd done? Or maybe not done?

I tried phoning. No reply!
I swung past his desk. Not there!
I emailed. Waited. Got reply: "I can see you at 1.00."

By this time it was 12.20 and my planned long wander was now out of the window. So I dashed along to a nice spot just off the Grassmarket and waited for some inspiration.

Getting back to the office, and there he was. And a nice chat we had too. Seems a job had come up that he thought I'd be interested in. Of course I was. When can I start? Almost immediately!

No promotion or anything like that, a similar role to my present one but with a much more technical specialist line to it. Much more up my street.

Not a bad Friday after all.
