Whoowhoo!

The best part of a year ago, some online friends and I who are all aspiring writers, met on a website called 'You Write On' and gradually the idea of a book inspired by pop songs came into being. We all wrote one 'freestyle' where we took our favourite song and wrote a short story inspired by it, and we all wrote one conjured up by 'Heroes' the David Bowie song.
We edited each others stories, made suggestions, did the subbing and finally sent it in for publishing! The first years takings will go to the Blue Lamp charity, for emergency personnel injured in the line of duty (I have to say I don't imagine we'll be giving away a fortune by this gesture, but you never know) and this was the email I got tonight. So sometime next week I should see my copies of 'Pop Fiction' arriving through the post - I may well blip the cover, which is a bit special as one of the guys met the photographer of that famous 'Clash" cover at an art gallery and got her permission to do a take off of the iconic image! There has been so much good will and positive vibes around this book that I am quite excited at it hitting the Amazon shelves soon (so we're assured!). Gosh. I think when we all started, no one really imagined this would ever happen.....
