Signpost

This looks like a cat toy, but really it isn't. At least not to my cat, April. I have never seen her take it in her mouth or play with it. In fact, she seems to pay absolutely no attention to it. But it does hold significance for her.

This object moves around the house, as if by an unseen hand. I find it in spots that April has recently been been sleeping cozily in.........like a special chair.......on my bed in the morning......or on a new cushion she has claimed for herself. She is never sleeping with it, rather it appears after she has been using the space. When I hold it up to her, as if to ask her about it, she barely acknowledges it. It's like her little secret object, acting as a signpost or calling card.....as if to say, "this is my spot, take notice!"
