Mon oeil!

I love that expression in French. Just when you can't quite believe something and you suspect it not being right you can just pull the skin below your eye slightly down and this gesture means "you're having me on, don't you?" It's obviously not really translated into English and sometimes when I just do the gesture people don't understand me. Just shows you how not only spoken languages differ from country to country but also the signlanguage.

And talking of signlanguage how the simple gesture for "victory" can mean something completely different if the hand is turned around.

Language is very fascinating and I wish I had paid more attention to my linguistics classes when at University. But it's always been literature that I was interested in and this blip is of me reading a poem "The Panther" by Rainer Maria Rilke to a colleague. (I didn't realise I was being blipped and this was sent to me by email where I just blipped the eye section to end up with this slightly surreal blip.
