over to help me and Alfie bake a shed load of things!
Had another lovely afternoon with another sous chef. Sarina and Fleur came over to help bake and to feed me a lovely gourmet (made by Shree) sandwich to keep me going.
Banana bread, fairy cakes and the first mince pies of the year, made with homemade shortcrust with homemade flakey pastry lids. They may look a bit... but taste lovely. I feed the mincemeat with a touch (or 3) of brandy and butter the tins generously. Fairy cakes look a tad, well nippletastic! They are very pink (Fleur's behest) and they always rise oddly in the middle but taste ok. I see a theme.....
Then to a chilli cook off, veggie and meat as Cathy is coming tomorrow.
Followed by a glass or 2 of pink fizz as a toast to Catherine (and her boys) as it is her birthday today.
