Sleeping Seal Lions
Headed up to Cowichan Bay today hoping to see the sea lions that had taken over one of the docks. I learned that every year they follow the salmon to the mouth of the Cowichan River and feast in the bay. After eating their fill, they congregate on the docks, barking and sunning themselves. I am not sure how the residents feel about the sea lions, but turns out they are quite a tourist draw. While I was there the sea lions were sleeping off their salmon feast. I will head up again earlier in the day when the sun is shining to see if I can catch them being more active.
