Bayanihan

Taken from the rootword bayan meaning town or barrio. Bayanihan is the spirit of unity of a people in a community.

This is a scene I witnessed on the way down from the mountains. The bayanihan spirit displayed here in burying the dead. They will carry the loved one to the town's public cemetery through a long and winding road, several kilometers up the mountains.

I apologize for the not so clear image. This scene appeared all of sudden as we took a turn down the road and I just had to capture it quickly. I also did some cropping and fiddled with the tones a bit.
