the cloud is all a twitter
example: twittercloud, "twittertrends"
source: 24hrs; wednesday, october ?, 2010, pg ?
analysis:
unfortunately, when i saved this example from the 24hrs newspaper, i only tore off the bottom part, and neglected to rip out the whole page: the date and page no. is indicated on the leaderhead of the free daily. all i could surmise was that this was taken from a wednesday issue, based on the clues provided from the weather network panel.
twittertrends is a good example of a text-based infographic. all the recent tweets are collected and the subjects have been pulled out to form a cloud of collected words. the size of the words reflect the popularity of the subject: the bigger the word, the more often it has been tweeted. for example, with one quick glance, you can tell right away that 'toronto', 'nenshi', and 'ford' are very popular twitter topics.
