Colchester Holds Remembrance Service

Parades through the oldest town in England, were held by members of the armed forces, police, St John's Ambulance and youth groups including guides and scouts.

Accompanied by the band of the Parachute Regiment, led by Pegasus the regiment?s Shetland pony, the procession made its way along the High Street towards the town's war memorial.

Local residents and some visitors from further afield, lined the streets to witness the passing of active servicemen and veterans of former battles alike, the latter acting as rear guard in a convoy of Jeeps.

The picture is taken from the north side of the high street, looking west towards the town hall and its prominent clock tower. Just visible centre right is 'Jumbo', England's largest Victorian Water Tower.

I hope you like it.
