So Near Yet So Far Away*

Seems to have been the theme of the day ...

First off, cock up on the commemoration front. Kirkliston's Remembrance parade (300 yards) from the church to the memorial is at 12.00 but I went to it last year and thught I'd go (2 miles) further afield today. Alfie and I walked down to South Queensferry but we missed it by more than an hour. Oh well, best intentions.

Then Alfie and I headed to the woods and I thought I'd get a picture of him wearing a Santa hat/beard combo I bought for George last Christmas (massive £1 outlay). My aim was to get a picture for the December page of the calendar I'm making his owner for letting me take him out. However .... the hat-beard was on and then just as speedily off. A furious, yet funny, five minutes of mad tear-arsing around followed and then, like the little mouse presented to me earlier in the week, the hat-beard quickly died.

In the tradition of 'these things come in threes', I made my way to the wine rack for a little Sunday night libation to discover NO RED! I seem to have been tricked by some deceptive black liddage and lazily assumed it was red. Just got out of the bath and not prepared to go out so it looks like a glass of white for me. Bummer.
