It's there!
Now children, if you just look over there, yes just there, that's where mummy's brain has been hiding. Now swim out and get it please. First one back gets a hot chocolate.
Made it to the beach today. Bliss. We walked and talked and walked some more. North Berwick beach is a favourite of ours because it pleases everyone. There is the beach, rocks and rockpools, a toilet, a cafe, and a local town with an amazing old fashioned sweetie shop, oh and a toilet, and a chip shop.
We have walked this beach for many years as a family, with friends and relatives. It holds so many wonderful memories, some of which we chatted about today. My favourite is when my boy was walking along a wall which surrounds a little walled off pool in the sea. A wave came along and pushed him off. He struggled to swim and I thought he was kidding as he thrashed around, calling on his sister. We were both laughing so much. When I realised this was for real and he really thought he was drowning - I screamed, stand up. He stopped, looked at me and stood up. The water lapped around his knees. It was a baby pool after all. Poor boy, will he ever be allowed to forget that.
There was also time to go to the allotment and bring home a haul of tatties, pumpkin, and leeks.
This is the kind of day that keeps me going for weeks and weeks. Which is just as well.
P.S. guest photographer my No. 1 boy. Amazing really cos he had no idea how to switch it on and didn't get the half push for focus bit at all. Well done my boy No 1
