Are you receiving me?
I'm not really sure where I'm going with this! It's a very long vase. I've always had a soft spot for it's shape but when I blew the cobwebs off the top (am I giving away too much about the cleanslate slate household?) it made such a lovely noise, that I think I might end up playing a tune every day!
Feeling much better today. Not working and back with my boys, we skipped swimming, due to no.1 son's lingering cold but we wrapped up warm and cleared leaves from the back garden. I say that as though that's the sort of thing we do. Clearly, not. I'm not sure what came over me. I'm pleased to report that I shan't be repeating the event next year, because I've now got a green wheelie bin completely full of leaves (and I squished everything down a lot, so it's really really full) and the garden looks better, if you'd had the pleasure of seeing it before .... but it's still COVERED with leaves. So, what's the point??
My neighbour made me laugh, she had been sweeping in the back garden but not at the front. When she saw me at the front she came out and said, "I'm not doing that, because the gate's so open at the front and with these gales I know more leaves will come in tonight". What does she think is protecting her back garden?? A 3 foot high fence? Honestly...
Anyway, I've got my oldest friend coming to stay tomorrow. Not that she's very old(!) merely that we have been acquainted for some time. Although, now you mention it... she is 8 days older than me :-)
Mr Cleanslate is babysitting, so who knows where the night will take us. I'm up for anything... as long as I'm tucked up in bed with my flannel pyjamas and hot water bottle by 10pm. Living the dream...
