Waiting for the light

Remembrance Day always leaves me heavy-hearted, even though I'm lucky enough never to have lost anyone in any sort of war. All day long the radio has been playing songs that are specifically designed to make you sob, and I obliged, adding a little extra salt to the soup I was making.
