Spent

Like our one firework, which is still sitting in the garden, I am well and truly spent this week. Also like this firework, I am well ready to fire from both or all barrels. Whoa betide the person who lights touch paper and stands well back. It won't be far enough.

Today was another of those spent in cars and stuffy buildings. The only fresh air was the 5 minutes it took to take this.

Today was also a day of wonderful black skies and bright, whole rainbows. At one point I was sure that I was going to drive through the arch of it. How beautiful.

Today was the day our computer, without any warning, crashed quite sectacularly - par for the course this week. This time no hospital visits or ambulances necessary. Probably only a trip to the city dump and the worry of what we have lost from infrequent back ups. perhaps our friendly computer repair doctor can salvage something for us.

Tonight was my first chance to speak to my children. To reflect on their week and to thank them for their patience and resilience.

It was also a night to help with homework and to help with the awful cracks my kids get on their feet in cold weather. Inherited from me I'm afraid.

Tomorrow is another day. A day when I intend to walk, and walk, and walk. I won't even mind if it begins to rain beacuse it won't stop me.
