I did suggest the other day that it would be only a matter of time before a certain guy in a red coat came our way.

Well, it's a bit like London buses - you wait all year for one, then three come along at the same time, although one of them is clearly working under cover.

And they had to be kept under lock and key before they are unleashed at the big Christmas lights switch-on this Thursday - an event that will fortunately pass me by because I am working late.

Today was one of those awful treacle days where the very minimum of material was produced for us to work with.

A hand to mouth existence has become hand to mouth in slow motion.

Still, the day did have its moments - the highlight being when the office was reduced to fits of laughter after someone passed around a Ugandan tabloid.
