Slow Sloe Gin!

woo hoo!

Bill began the Sloe Gin process today. It will take at least three months to reach its full potential.

Best to pick the sloe berries after the first frost they say.
We have dispensed with the instruction to prick each and evey berry with a silver hat pin. This is for two reasons, firstly because I do not have access to a silver hat pin. Sold them all at auction, and secondly because life is too short to stuff a mushroom prick a million sloe berries!

Half an hour in the freezer does the same job!

Then.................add your best organic white refined sugar, oodles of litres of good gin ( can you see the reflection in the demi-john?) That was Bill's idea of a joke.
He took this blip today and pretended that he had used all my beloved Hendricks Gin instead of Gordon's. Ha Ha ha!
Then a tiny smidgeon of almond essence, cloves and cinnamon.

Shake rattle and roll until the sugar dissolves and the wondrous flavours embue to create the most amazing liqueur ever.
Add copious amounts of ice and soda water for a Sloe Gin Fizz or drink straight for an olfactory explosion!!!
Hic hic hic!!!
