Behind closed gates

Never noticed this before, not suprising as it is hidden behind gates to a residential housing area and fenced off almost from sight. I have no idea what it is other than I think it must be/have been a church of some description. Very intriging. This was taken from a mound of earth beside the local long stay car park over a fence. Hope people didn't think I was staking it out, or the houses round about it.
