What a grey day
This house (or rather houses these days) is just around the corner from mine and I've always wondered about that tower. Following a bit of local history research I have discovered that it is in fact a clock tower that used to house a striking clock by Gillet and Johnson of Croydon. The house itself was built in three stages broadly in the Arts and Crafts tradition all displaying similar features of the so-called 'Surrey vernacular style'.
So there you have it.
It's a rather dull picture because it was a rather dull morning here when I took it. In fact it was pouring with rain and the dogs were none too keen on going out in it - and neither was I!
