Thistle Down

Lingering

It is better to linger,
Just a little while.
And by standing in church,
To show off your smile.

And be a little bit friendly,
To those passing by.
And to give of sweet laughter,
With a grin in your eye.

To tell them you love them,
Help them to know they are great.
And by your expressions,
Let them call you...first rate.

To be interested in them,
And in what they can show.
Congratulate their efforts,
And to watch their faces glow.

Linger just a moment,
Saying nothing to offend.
Then will they call you,
And keep you...their friend.
