It's Beautiful Day, Don't Let It Get Away

I didn't yet did ...

The sun was throwing long low shadows through the windows at 8am, the day was going to be perfect. I went to collect the beautifully photogenic (you've not seen him at his best) Alfred and headed to Almondell Country Park. There could be no finer place to be with your camera on a day like this, sunshine, a red dog and the fabulous reds and yellow leaves. You'd think.

Anyway, I feel a strong letter coming on to Mr P Johnston who delivered the Take Better Pictures lecture to me and a select group yesterday. At no point, and I have the notes to back this up, did he mention that you should have a battery in your camera at all times. Its like the Ultimate pegs all over again, To make matters worse, the battery in my phone went to 'danger danger' while we were out too. I dont feel I can hang that one on him though.

We had a lovely walk, met lots of lovely dogs blahblahblah. Then I came home and thought I'd put some of the knobs and buttons I've discovered into practice and headed into the garden ... I took some average (good for me) pictures of browning Crocosmia leaves, v structural/architectural plants and almost as interesting when knackered as when in full blom.

Then came my decisive monent (thanks, Henri), Archie ran up my back and landed on my shoulder. No time for focus, framing, choices etc. Job done.

Thanks and goodnight, I'll be here all week.

Beautiful Day, U2, 2000
