Call it drab...

...or call it restful. Not all of the trees are bare but will be soon.

I don't have to wonder why I love the popular and trendy decorating schemes that combine dull browns, pale blues and slightly more saturated golds, it's all around me right now. I like that you can see the forest floor, every undulation of the topography and the branch structure of the trees.

A quiet promise was made to myself, not too loud in case I might hear: I will not let a bit of snow keep me couped up and will endeavor to venture out this winter instead, for the purpose of enjoying and capturing its beauty. Maybe.
