jeweled poppy

As I have a new found hobby, knitting I thought I would try and copy one of the bead encrusted poppies I saw in a newspaper last week. In the end it was easier to crochet something so small and I made up the design as I went along. I used silk mohair mix yarn with a lurex fillament that I added from a reel of fancy machine embroidery thread as I went along. Afterwards I sewed in black and red beads.

I have also bought a poppy to make a donation in case anyone worries I am just being a cheap skate. I know there are firm limits to make do and mend!

I have been very behind with posting pictures for a few weeks now. My apologies but I have been looking at yours. I am amazed and grateful that I still have followers. You are a lovely friendly lot, some I know have passed big blipping milestones and I will catch up and comment when I can. I will try harder (I have back blipped for yesterday)
