When he has something that won't fit the letterbox, the postman rings the bell, counts to 5 then continues on his way. My pathetic stagger to the door took more than 5 seconds, so later I had to venture out ("the light! the light!") to the parcel depot to pick it up; as you can see, it is a very high-tech establishment. It took longer than 5 for that bell to be answered...
