Wet,wet, wet mischief

In my youth we made very little of Halloween. Someone may have had a party with apple bobbing but it wasn't a big thing. We didn't have pumpkin lanterns either (this has been on my neighbours doorstep all week and they have no young children), we had turnip lanterns to light our way to the bonfire and to light our sparklers in!

The 4th of November in Yorkshire would have been 'Mischief' night when you did daft tricks on your neighbours like tying their dustbin lids to the gate or other annoying but harmless things. I don't know if this still goes on anywhere?

Any way anyone trying anything tonight will get wet, wet, wet! - like the pumpkin.
