For Manda

This one is for Manda. Manda is the BEST childminder in the whole world, and looked after Milo from when he was just 6 months old. With her wonderous ways she taught me lots of things about parenting, as a young-ish mum-without-a-mum she was invaluable. She took Milo on lots of great adventures, but also had a brilliant trick of turning a job into an exciting activity for the kids. I learnt from her that anything from posting a parcel, doing the grocery shopping or taking books back to the library - can, with a bit of imagination, become activities that everyone gets excited about and learns from.

So today's blip idea was turned into an activity - Summer and I bought the pomegranate while Milo was at school. We had an interesting conversation with an old lady who said "oh good I AM glad I've seen someone buying one of those, what an earth do you do with them?" (I think she was more than a little confused when I said I was going to take a picture of it). Cutting it open with a big grown up knife was very exciting and Milo loved picking out all the little gems to fill up the spoon. And now we get to eat them too. Result all round. Thanks Manda! xxx
