Daily Grind

Anyone else ever get stressed just by the daily 9-5? Things come and things go to add a bit of flavour to life, but generally the same old routine always takes over. I was sat searching for an inspiration for a blip and realised I spent more time typing and texting than I do actually speaking and socialising. Sad times.

Anyway I am hoping to start writing a bit to go with my blips when I can, and so here is a bit of a poem or something to accompany the image.

"Up at seven, in by eight
No chance of ever being late
Filing cabinets, telephone calls
This nine to five has got your balls

Holding on throughout the day
Twisting tight in every way
Income tax, colleagues sick
Company manuals inches thick

Home by five, time for tea
Sit by the fire, await misery
Watching crap on the box,
Switch off the light, turn the locks

The same again, day after day
Not living life in any way
Just kicking back, slipping away
No one there to really care for me
I think that?s the way it?ll always be.

Then I met her by a chance,
Exchanging no more than a single glance
Her subtle tones lit up the black
Her raging beauty brings my smile back
The light floods in and all around
I can hardly make a single sound
Shes so far and yet so near
She?s what I desire, its become so clear

The dust cloud from that stale life
Is still slowly suffocating me alive
I don?t feel I can reach out
And grab the thing I dream about
She touched my soul, but wanted to part
It could have just been the very start
But somehow, somewhere I truly know
That this is just another show
and exhibition of something not for sale
another example of an epic fail

So I'm up at seven and in by eight,
Regretting the day I believed in fate"
