The Corngrinder
When the cattle have been brought inside for the winter months the corngrinder is hard at work in the mornings making some of their feed. The grey box at the top is filled with home-grown barley and this works its way down into the grinder which in turn conveys it to the sacks hanging on either side. It is electrically powered and the grinding makes a lot of noise! The outcome is rather like coarse meusli - too rough for us to comfortably eat but a good meal for the cattle and the chickens.
Today I went for a nose around Clarks Village at Street with a neighbour. Came home with six white saucers, two Portmeirion plates and some body lotion.
