Shinsaibashi
BACKBLIP - This is a street in the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka, the neon and electric signs sum up this area, its a fight to death to advertise - I am yet to blip this kind of street at night time, sure it will happen before I leave as there are a few nights out planned.
So Sat shopping in Japan is as mobbed as at home, there seems to be a system of keeping to the left. I am short lets say and Dougie, well he's very tall so he could see where the throng of the crowd was going and guided my kindly by my sholders. I was going to blip the crowd but I think that photo opportunity will arise again too lol. There is a Krispy Kreme donuts place here, but the day we passed there was a 20 minute que, Dougie says this is short compared with normal but we didn't feel the need for them today - it seems the Japanese adore anything western and mainly american, so krispy kreme's que's will most likely remain that way for some time.
We spent most of the day lapping up the culture and relishing the novelty of being in each others company as its been 9 months since Dougie moved here. We had lunch in Slices, a Canadian Bar, run by a half chinese half canadian lady Seng, who Dougie thought was Japanese, nonetheless, brilliant place with lovely junk food lol
We then searched for silver paint to complete Dougie's edward scissor hands costume and headed back to his flat!! BRILLIANT hang out time then occurred. Dougs then had a night parade and I was gratefully invited out to dinner with some of his friends in Kaigandori to a restaurant known by the Geishin as "dancing vegetables", I think its because they cant read Japanese, but speak it not to bad. The restaurant wasnt traditional japanese but we did get a booth where we had to de-shoe! grand! Then off to Urizins again (where we blipped last night) for a swift one before Bed time.
BRILL first full day x
