Birch bracket (Piptoporus betulinus)

I've had a fantastic day Etherow Country Park in Stockport.

This fungus starts out all white, and when fully grown turns brown on top. When mature it has a texture similar to polystyrene, and was once used for sharpening razor blades, hence it's other name of 'razor strop fungus'.
