Perfect day . . . .

. . . .for a walk. Ollie and I headed off for a walk this afternoon and it was absolutely glorious. A bit breezy, but not too windy, chilly but not freezing and wonderfully bright and sunny. We headed round to the head of the bay and sat and watched some seals. There has been a huge bull seal and two smaller females (?) in the bay for the last few days, and I think it was them. They came in quite close, but they still look like black blobs in amongst the waves, so decided against blipping them. As I sat watching them and Ollie rootled around at the water's edge, one of the smaller ones settled itself on a rock in the shallows. It wasn't bothered by Ollie at all, seals seldom are, generally they are simply curious.

These are our nearest bunch of cows and calves. They are in the same field every year and they are used to me stopping and speaking to them and giving them a bit of a scratch and a stroke. The speckled nose cow is a particular favourite of mine. I'm afraid I have several photos of her - she just has a kind motherly look about her!

In the background are the cliffs we walk round, but seen from another angle and the little building on the shore is the old kirk. It has recently been sold to an American chap who comes over regularly and has converted it into a holiday home.
