Eucalyptus globlus

I hope you don't get weary with garden plants in my blips. It's a work week and most of the time, I'm confined at home before I am off again to "warzone". My only window to the world at this time is my garden while collecting my thoughts and energy for the next haul for the day.

One of my favorite in my "haven of rest" is the Eucalyptus globlus, a tender Perennial. Eucalyptus is a diverse genus of trees (and a few shrubs), the members of which dominate the tree flora of Australia. Many, but far from all, are known as gum trees in reference to the habit of many species to exude copious sap from any break in the bark. Not known to all, though, it belongs to the Myrtle family, as their leaves are covered with oil glands.

I have a whole bunch in a vase and they last for many months. It gives out a soothing aroma that surrounds my home. I just love it!
