Banana

I've been cutting off all the dead leaves from my banana before bringing it in for the winter. I won't bring it in just yet and am keeping a weather eye on the frost temperatures. This is aMusa lasiocarpa which is supposed to be very resistant to frost.

Last winter, I got caught out by a severe frost and this and my Ensete maurelli (a red leaved banana) which is very much less robust, were out in the garden. This one survived but the maurelli died.

Next year will be time to re-pot the plant since it has a number of new growths. Anyone want a banana?
